application analayst and any other similar position.
- Ideally, I would like:
- a career more than a job,
with opportunities for advancement

The Long Version
After I graduated Drexel University with a Bachelor of
Science in Information Systems and a minor in Business
Administration on June 11th, 2005, I got hired in July
2005 as an entry level Application Developer by DBCS
Computing, where I am currently working. They are
a very small (less than 10 employees) company of developers
working primarily for Philadelphia Gas Works.
Unfortunately, I was
informed a few days ago that I will be getting laid off
on November 11th, 2005, due to cash flow problems in the
business. They cannot afford to keep all employees on
payroll, and I was the last one hired, so I am the first
to go.
So, I am again in the
process finding a full-time, permanant job. Ideally, I
would like to work somewhere where I could have a true
career, work my way up, have good benefits, and get tuition
assistance to go back to school for a MS in Software Engineering
and/or an MBA. However, I am willing to work as a contractor
if I am unable to find a full-time job that I would accept.
My objective is to
find a job with some kind of programming, analysis, and
design, in particular I would like to be a web application
developer, either working with Java or the .NET framework,
also working with some database development. Or I could
work as a business analyst or requirements analayst. I
can start full-time on November 21st, 2005, and I am looking
for a salary of $45,000/year, but that is negotiable.
Location-wise, I am
looking in the Philadelphia area, southern New Jersey,
and Wilmington, DE.
